Second Shot − brand new book in the Charlie Fox crime thriller series − is hot off the press in bookstores on both sides of the Atlantic. It is launched in the UK by Allison & Busby and in the US by St Martin's Minotaur.
Lee Child says: "Today's best action heroine is back with a bang. Scarily good."
Booklist warns: "James Bond watch your back" and awards it a Starred Review for outstanding merit.
Publisher's Weekly says: "it should win Sharp many new American fans."
First Drop − my first Charlie Fox thriller to be set in America − takes on a new lease of life this month as a mass market paperback.
Published by St Martin's Press Minotaur in hardcover in 2005, it was a finalist for the Barry Award "for excellence in crime fiction" as Best British Crime Novel.
It was also awarded a Starred Review by Publishers Weekly, who said: "Sharp's aim is dead-on − stunning."
The US signing tour kicks off on Thursday, 6 September at a joint event with Lee Child at Partners & Crime bookstore in Greenwich Village, New York. Then it's a whirlwind dash through 14 States in 22 days to 27 bookstores and libraries (and counting − we'll be doing extra drop-ins as we go). Check out the full itinerary.
Along the way, we are doing many joint events with fellow writers − James O Born, Christine Kling, Neil Plakcy, Charlie Huston, Carola Dunn, JD Rhoades, Libby Fischer Hellmann and Shane Gericke − and looking forward to some great get-togethers! The most fun in being a writer is meeting bookstore and library staff as well as so many fans and readers, old and new.
