The Bouchercon World Mystery Convention is held every year in a different city. Although I missed Las Vegas in 2003 − my appendix went bang − I made it to Toronto in 2004, and in 2005 Chicago was the home venue. A fabulous city and a great convention, giving published authors and mystery fans chance to rub shoulders and talk books.
